The term subculture is generally used to define a cultural group which belongs to a bigger culture but the interests and beliefs differ from the bigger group it belongs. Subcultures do play a big role in delinquency and crime. The norms, traditions, values and interests of the subculture have a deep effect in individuals committing crime and becoming delinquent. The apparent culture of a place might be good and has not criminal tendencies but due to certain cultural, political, social and economic reason a subculture might start to develop which is more inclined towards crime and delinquency.
